Week 6

I am two weeks late, but I was out of town, so I will be uploading the pictures for this and week 7.

I shall be continuing to post more photographs after project seven and of course poems too.

Chanel 5
Seeing this old bottle of Chanel 5, I wrote a poem called Perfume, which should upload tomorrow with a few edits. The perfume makes for a  vintage and old, yet bold photograph.

Angled
This photo is of a pink flower in my garden, the reason for its title is that the way the flower has grown is really strange, almost at a tilted angle. From the photo it can be seen that the shoot has grown like a curve.

On fire
This is a picture of a flower, from a flame tree, at my grandfather's house. The reason for its title is that although, the tree itself is called the flame tree, the angle at which I took the photo gives a slight of intense heat, coming from the side of the flower.

On a Rainy day
I could have kept the title of this photo as mug or something plain, but the blue background, gives the feeling of it being dark and cloudy outside. Hence, the title talk about a thing that I would enjoy doing on a rainy day, which here, is to treat myself to a hot beverage.

Bright white
As it can be observed from the photograph, the flower, is completely, sparkling white. The reason for the title is that, the brightness and plainness of the flower is really what the viewer sees first.

so no one knows who you are,
for a while, for sometime,
the the mask becomes you,
it reaches your soul,

Ladybugs

So I have this recent obsession with clicking ladybugs or birds, whatever one calls them . They are of course delightful creatures, but so difficult to shoot, due to their rapid movement . Here is a poem titled

'The lady in red '

The lady dressed in red,
Sat on the clover,
The autumn sun shining bright,
Through the alcoves of the tree,
Sudden movement scares the lady,
Her knees quake with fear,
She spread her wings,
And takes her flight,
In hope for a safer haven.

Suspended Reality

They lived their lives in darkness,
Unhappiness all around them,
Searching for some joy.
Tears stream down their face,
Looking for another world.
They escape from reality,
wishing they’d never come back home.
They wish they’d find someone like them,
Someone who would understand their pain…

Trip Overseas Part 5: Headless Beauties

The Louvre museum is home to many beautiful pieces of art like sculptures and paintings among others. What caught my immediate attention were these very beautiful headless statues. Although headless, these sculptures have great detail on their clothing which makes them seem very real. Each and every fold in the cloth is specifically shown; the textures are very well represented and have a very rough yet smooth feeling to them. Though these statues don’t have an apex they still manage to capture your view and make you want to look at them even more.

There were not only headless statues but bodiless busts like that of Alexander the Great.

Some of the sculptors whose work is present in the Louvre are – Michelangelo, Puget, and Houdon etc. Other statues: There were also other sculptures that caught the eye like that of a rider on a horse, of kings, of angels, of babies, of Gods and Goddesses… The famous Venus de Milo was the center of attraction; though the statue is armless is still holds great beauty and elegance. Aside from Roman and Greek sculptures there were a few Egyptian sculptures too - statues of cats, the priest of Bastet, the very famous Seated Scribe and the Sphinx.
