The Moth and the Lamp

The Moth and the Lamp, Cesar Santos

She held on to the light in the dark,
That lit her path, that gave her comfort,
She was a wizard, a sorceress,
But without the light,
Without her source she was left powerless, helpless,

The long journey had led her here,
Her path was now clear,
She felt all life slip away,
Her breath, stolen from her,

Her wings gave their final flutter,
Her shoes slipped from her feet,
She realized, it was time,
She exhaled one last breath,
As the light left her eyes.....

An Apple a year...

Children  are born with silver spoons in their mouth but I was different. I was born with an Apple in my mouth... figuratively so to say. Ever since I was a child, I have wholeheartedly been a dedicated Apple fan; constantly desiring some or the other Apple product that had just recently come out in the market. Although I was quite young to know or understand the technical know- how's of the products, they still managed to generate excitement within me.

My first iPod shuffle, was one gadget that I just couldn't get enough of, while others roamed around with phones having music players, I believed that the iPod was THE device for music lovers.
Then came the iPhone. Although, it was my Father's, the iPhone held a special place in my heart. it was most probably the first phone I had ever "owned". The iPhone was like my best friend, it had all the things I needed -a clock, the Internet, information about the weather, music etc. The notes feature of the iPhone was literally like my diary.

Even though I couldn't afford all of their products , I would still get excited to hear about their latest innovations. If  ever someone was critical of Apple products, I wouldn't spare them till I had them convinced that no other brand could even come close to the innovations made by the company.
iPhone 5C

Things changed drastically when I heard about the death of Steve Jobs, the father of Apple inc. I was devastated. I started to think about whether Apple could survive without it's genius and creative head ;these thoughts were bothered me to no end. The thought of Apple soon disappearing from the market started to feel like a reality.

Yet, here we are, just a few months away from Apple launching its latest Macbook, a month away from the  release of iOS7 and a few days away from the launch of iPhone 5c. Apple is still standing strong and it has successfully managed to maintain a stable position in the mobile market. The 5c appears to be more promising than ever, being one of the cheaper models of the iPhone it not only boasts of new and fantastic features such as a better camera, bigger retina display and a cheaper price!

From the view of a fan/spectator of the Apple company, I feel that Apple is one company which has through its creativity and motto to be different revolutionized- music, computing and mobile phones.
In an ever changing world like today, it is difficult to constantly reinvent products yet, Apple has managed to do just that! Steve Jobs is a brilliant example of how nothing is impossible and being different is the way to success.

I would strongly encourage everyone who can afford the iPhone to be kind and generous  to buy me one, it really would make my year! (until the next one comes out..)

What are your views on the new iPhone?

Black and white

If you have been following my blog closely it would be quite evident that photography is my premier hobby these days. However, black and white photography or monochrome is a setting/genre that I simply adore.

The magic of monochrome is unbeatable. Shooting in monochrome is also a little more challenging in its own different way. While with color photography one has to manage a lot of different aspects of color and make the best of every element present in the frame. But what I feel is more challenging about monochrome is the story that one has to try and capture in the frame. The focus in a monochrome picture is more on the story that one tries to capture....

The elephant really is a regal creature, with its great size, and gentle exterior

Guess who?

It was a hot summer day, and while I did have many tasks to attend to, I decided to take my favorite friend out for a walk: my camera. As usual, I struggled to find inspiration in my same old, classic and easily accessible location my garden. But luck was on my side that day, even though it was a fairly humid day I had the opportunity to meet and greet my old friend:

A lady in red, walking alone, she sublimely made all the summer heat disappear in a moment, her beautiful red coat, dazzling in red hot sun and her sure- footed walk really made standing in the heat worthwhile.

So here she is:

Inside frames

A picture has different meanings.
For some; achievement, and
For some; Joy.
But for some;
Just memories,
Both bitter and sweet.
Reminding, that
The one you loved,
Is no longer around,
Gone away forever.

Closer to nature

Roses, are one of the most gentle and fragrant flowers, personally I find them interesting to capture, their essence and texture is a little to tough to capture. In my  pictures I have tried to capture them to my best effort, along with other things =p
