Black saturday

An innocent girl,
Who lost her life,
All because of a few men,
Men who believed themselves to be superior.
They robbed her of her soul,
Her hope, her fight,
Woke a nation,
A sleeping land,
Candles, not weapons, were held in hands,
Justice was what was asked,
A feeling of despair, desperation, hit them all,
Where is our Country?
Is it the same place,
where the ashes of those who fought long for its freedom,
Are buried ?
How long will it take till we're safe?
How long till we see better days ?
This night seems too long,
But now it's time to rise up,
To enlighten ourselves and others,
We can't sit back anymore,
It's time to wake those,
Who hold the law in their hands,
Justice, knocking at their doors.

In the dark

The dark forest enveloped her,
The light disappeared,
She had said she was lost,
But where?
The darkness was growing in her eyes,
Demons rising in the dark,
The beady eyes of a raven, that dark raven,
Watched her closely.
She heard a noise,
The noise of footsteps,
The dark woods creaking,
She paced in the dark looking for a way, someplace to go,
Somewhere to hide,
Yet the light didn't get through to her.
The noise of footsteps echoed loudly,
Her life hung by a string,
Held tightly by those who claimed to own her,
It was the end.
There he was with his silver blade,
The blade that glistened in the dark,
His hood covered his dark face,
'Come my child, the time has come'.
The end, so soon? Was she really getting what she wanted?
Just when she took a step,
To embrace death in her arms,
The forest tis melted,
Her tears fell like the rain.
She had hoped her world,
That terrible place was coming to an end,
But she had hoped to soon.
